Museum Series Aquabord is a textured, highly absorbent surface designed for watercolor and gouache. Aquabord is crafted from our premium warp-resistant 1/8" FSC-certified Hardbord™ that is protected with our proprietary Archiva-Seal™ and coated with an acid-free clay and mineral ground with a texture similar to cold-pressed watercolor paper. Colors retain their purity and vibrancy in a way that even the finest of watercolor papers can't match and Aquabord allows artists to frame and display their watercolor without glass.
Museum Series Encausticbord is a finely textured, highly absorbent panel formulated for the unique demands of encaustic painting and mixed media. Encausticbord is made from our premium warp-resistant 1/8" profile FSC-certified Hardbord™ that is protected with our proprietary Archiva-Seal™ and coated with a specially formulated gesso to form a bright, velvety surface that is ready to use for encaustic painting. Hardbord can be used with a variety of media. It is strongly recommended to seal and prime all unprimed panels before use.
Ampersand's Birch Wood Panel is perfect for all artists, from aspiring beginners to seasoned professionals. These high-quality birch panels do not have seams, distinct knots, or "football" patches that can lead to cracks and damage to artwork.
Birch panels can be used with a variety of media. With the exception of encaustics and pyrography, it is strongly recommended to seal and prime all unprimed panels before use. Once sealed and primed, the rigid plywood surface is perfect for mixed media, collage, and heavy paint applications like pouring.
Museum Series Scratchbord is made from our premium warp-resistant 1/8" profile FSC-certified Hardbord™ that is sealed and protected with our proprietary Archiva-Seal™ and coated with an ultra-smooth, highly absorbent, acid-free kaolin clay ground with India ink. Scratchbord is easier to scratch into for clean, crisp details and lines and unlike paper scratchboards it will not rip, tear, bend, or wrinkle.
