Unprimed wood panels are ideal for artists that prefer a quality surface to seal and prime with a ground of their choice. A great alternative to canvas, Hardbord is perfectly suited for all acrylic gessoes, specialty grounds, traditional gesso, and oil primers.

Ultra-smooth Hardbord is a great surface for mixed media, collage, plein air, metal leaf, heavy paint applications, and is also a perfect support to mount watercolor papers, photos, fabrics, prints, and more.

Only Ampersand’s Hardbord is made without formaldehyde or harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds) unlike other hardboards and MDF boards.
